The Nebraska women’s gymnastics team (4-3, 2-1 Big Ten) defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes (2-3, 0-3 Big Ten) on Sunday afternoon by a score of 196.500-195.725.
Sophia McClelland claimed the all-around title with a 39.250, her first time competing in the all-around this season. The Huskers also won event titles on all vault, bars, beam and all-around. Emma Spence earned the bars title with a 9.900 and Csenge Bácskay won the vault event with a career-high 9.875. McClelland claimed the beam title with a 9.900. Notably, Nebraska hit all 24 of its routines.
Freshmen Whitney Jencks and Isabel Sikon each grabbed two career-high scores of their own. Jencks earned a 9.825 on bars and a 9.850 on beam, while Sikon scored a 9.800 on both vault and beam.
Rotation One
The Big Red started the afternoon on bars, posting a team score of 49.075. Spence led the team with a 9.900, which also won the event title. Whitney Jencks scored a career-high 9.825, and Kinsey Davis and Clara Colombo followed with scores of 9.800. McClelland (9.750) and Bácskay (9.725) rounded out the rotation.
Rotation Two
NU continued the day by notching a team score of 49.000 on vault. Bácskay led the Huskers with a career-high 9.875, which also claimed the event title. Isabel Sikon, Martina Comin and Ayzhia Hall all earned scores of 9.800. Sikon’s score was a career high for her. McClelland (9.725) and Davis (9.650) finished out the event for the Big Red.
Rotation Three
Bácskay earned a 9.900 on floor to lead the Huskers, marking her fourth time scoring 9.9+ on the event this season. Sophia McClelland and Halle Rourke both notched a 9.875 and Whitney Jencks followed with a 9.850, her second career best of the night. Katie Kuenemann scored a 9.800 on her floor debut and Martina Comin rounded out the event with a 9.700. As a team, the Huskers scored a 49.300. NU has not scored below a 49.000 on floor yet this year.
Rotation Four
McClelland led the Huskers on beam with a 9.900, which won the event title. Allie Gard scored a season-high 9.850 and Emma Simpton notched a season-high 9.825. Sikon earned a 9.800 to tie her career high, and Hall (9.750) and Bácskay (9.350) finished out the lineup. NU scored a 49.125 as a team.

NU will travel to College Park, Md., to take on the Maryland Terrapins on Feb. 10. The meet is set to start at 5 p.m. and will be streamed on B1G+.
