Büyüktuncel Turns in Solid Effort in FIBA U20 Eurbobasket Finale

Incoming sophomore Berke Büyüktuncel turned in a solid performance during the FIBA U20 Eurobasket for his native Türkiye this week.  The 6-foot-9 sophomore forward closed tournament action on Sunday by totaling 15 points, 14 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a 96-95 loss to Iceland.

During the seven games in Goynia, Poland, Büyüktuncel averaged 12.0 points per game on 51 percent shooting, along with 7.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.3 steals per game. He shot 54 percent from 3-point range, including a 5-of-5 effort against Israel.

He finished the tournament in the top 10 among all players in rebounding (ninth, 7.7 rpg), blocked shots (10th, 1.3 bpg) and double-doubles (sixth, two), while finishing in double figures in five of seven contests.
