LINCOLN – Nebraska State Board of Canvassers members will convene in the Governor’s Hearing Room at the State Capitol at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024. The purpose of the meeting is to certify the results of the November 5, 2024, statewide general election.
The Board of State Canvassers includes Governor Jim Pillen, Secretary of State Bob Evnen, Attorney General Mike Hilgers, State Treasurer Tom Briese, and Auditor of Public Accounts Mike Foley.
The Board of State Canvassers is required by law to certify the 2024 general election results following the election. County election officials have spent the past few weeks canvassing results and preparing certification materials for the Board of State Canvassers. The canvassing process allows county election officials to account for every ballot cast and ensure each valid vote is included in the official results.
If any final certified results of a race fall within the parameters of an automatic recount, a recount will occur on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. In that event, a second meeting of the Nebraska Board of State Canvassers is scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th at 9:00 a.m. in the Governor’s Hearing Room at the State Capitol in Lincoln.
A copy of the agenda is available online and in the Secretary of State’s Office during regular business hours. The meeting is open to the public.
