The North Platte Police Department along with law enforcement agencies nationwide will participate in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”, high-visibility, drunk driving enforcement campaign from December 11th through January 1st 2025. Drivers will see more law enforcement on the road with zero tolerance for impaired driving. The goal as always is to save lives. The average DUI arrest costs $10,000 in attorney’s fees, fines, court costs, lost time at work, higher insurance rates and more. Plan ahead during the Christmas and New Years celebrations and designate a sober driver or call a rideshare.
