The Nebraska School Activities Association had a meeting this week. Among the highlights from the meeting were:
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 7-0 FOR approving the 2022 Fall Activity Manuals and the 2022-2023 Media Manual.
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 7-0 FOR permitting Lincoln Pius X, Omaha Buena Vista, and Omaha Westview to opt up in all sports except football for the 2022-2023 school year.
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 8-0 FOR increasing the number of weight classes for Girls Wrestling to the 14 NFHS weight classes to match the number of Boys Wrestling weight classes.
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 8-0 FOR increasing the number of qualifiers for Girls Wrestling to 16 qualifiers per weight class to match the number of qualifiers for Boys Wrestling.
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 8-0 FOR matching the Class B method for assigning Districts for Girls Wrestling.
• The NSAA Board of Directors voted 8-0 FOR approving an increase in officials and judges post-season pay, according to a social media post from the Nebraska School Activities Association.
