On December 8th, RSVP Volunteers gathered for the annual recognition event. Dana Songster, RSVP Director stated in her speech “Today we are here to say thank you! You matter. You make a difference. Your great generosity has had a profound and lasting impact on North Platte & Lincoln County. Your willingness to share both your time & your talent by volunteering with RSVP says a lot about each of you. Whether you are a long-time volunteer or if you got involved recently, and regardless of how many hours you choose to give, it’s important for you to know that what you do makes a difference.”
Six volunteers were recognized for serving the most volunteer hours during a twelve-month period (from September 1st, 2023-August 31st, 2024). The three ladies recognized were Alma Bullington (1,413 hours), Julie Wiezorek (1,346 ½ hours), & Mary Lou Derman (1,205 ½ hours). The three men recognized were Chuck Scripter (1,451 hours), Blake Barnum (1,021 ½ hours), and Gary Thomsen (908 hours).
Volunteers were also recognized for their Years of Service. Volunteers who reached a milestone year (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30) are as follows:

This year marks the 51st Anniversary of RSVP in North Platte. RSVP volunteers have reported a total of 4,389,502 hours of volunteer service to meet community needs. 4,389,502 hours is valued at $$139,586,163.60 in volunteer support and manpower needed to make our community the unique and wonderful place it is today!
