
The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a Flood Advisory for numerous rivers in Nebraska. The North Platte River at North Platte affecting Lincoln County. Experts say an ice jam will cause water to infiltrate the lowlands along the river.
Elevated river levels are forecast from this morning until further notice. At 6.0 feet, is known as the Minor flood stage. Minor flooding begins in low lying and agricultural areas along the south bank of the North Platte River.
Flooding of yards between the golf course and Buffalo Bill Campground are possible. People should use caution in the water and along the banks of the river, especially near Cody Park.
Today around 9:00 AM CST the stage was 6.2 feet, the bankfull stage was 6.0 feet.
The river is expected to fluctuate around 6.2 feet due to ice jamming. The action stage is 5.5 feet. While, the flood stage is 6.0 feet.
