Girl’s State Wrestling Begins Tuesday, Area Wrestlers Represent

The girl’s state wrestling championships are set to begin on Tuesday, with the area well-represented with competitors. The CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha will host the championships Tuesday and Wednesday, with the boy’s state tournament running Thursday through Saturday.

Matches begin for the girls Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 PM, with weigh-ins at 2:30.

North Platte sent Jade Stockton, who represents the Bulldogs at 110 pounds in Class A.

In Class B, Maxwell has Ceeann McIntosh at 110 pounds while Paxton has Skylar Johnson at 190 pounds. Sandhills Valley has the most athletes going, with Chloe Schaeffer at 115, Saije Phelps at 120 and Mariah Duran at 155. Sutherland has two athletes competing as well, with Mattaya Mills at 105 pounds and Addison Arvdal at 190.
