Knights finish second to open spring season

McCook, Neb. – North Platte Community College women’s golf closed out the McCook Community College Invitational with a second-place finish on Friday. The 36-hole tournament score of 798 is the first in program history.

Kaylee Carlson led the way with an opening round 93, before following that up with a 98 to finish in seventh place. Teammate Esperanza Mendoza-Rama finished the second round with a 104 to place eighth in the individual standings.

Kristyn Woolley bested her opening round by two strokes to finish ninth, while newcomer Delaine Mize carded a 103 on the final day to finish tied for tenth.

Knights will continue their spring season with the two-day Sand Creek Station Invite in Bethel, Kan. beginning April 5.
