The May 16th stop in North Platte for the Pony Express Ride Across Nebraska will be hosted by Families 1st Partnership. The motorcycle riders who participate in this children’s mental health event will stop at Cody Park on May 16th at approximately 1:30 pm. The stop will include a lunch for the riders provided by Families 1st Partnership, then a handing off of support letters to be taken to Governor Pillen.

This is the 17th annual event for The Pony Express Nebraska Motorcyclists as they join the ride across Nebraska, from the West end of the state to the East side, commonly known as the known as The Pony Express route. The Kick-off will start on Wednesday May 15th in Scottsbluff and the riders will eventually make their way to Omaha by Saturday May 18th at 1:30pm. Their mission includes picking up letters from children, families, advocates and children’s mental health supporters and delivering the letters to Governor Jim Pillen. The letters express the need for continued support for children’s mental health services in Nebraska.

The whole community is encouraged to take part in this effort to help bring more awareness to the needs of continued mental health supports for children in our state. Letters templates will be available for community members to share their point of view for improving mental health programs for children. The letters will be gathered at each stop and delivered on Saturday May 18th. Additional information about the Pony Express can be found on Facebook, Pony Express Ride- Children’s Mental Health Awareness.

Anyone who would like a letter template emailed to them may request one at info@families1stpartnership.org.
