Sept. 18, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), in partnership
with the Pillen administration and industry leaders in construction and engineering, will host a signing
ceremony on Friday, September 20, to honor the inaugural recipients of the Good Life, Great Journey
Scholarship.
This event celebrates the commitment of four scholarship recipients pursuing careers in STEM
(Science Technology, Engineering and Math) and Trades at Nebraska community colleges. The
inaugural scholarship recipients are enrolled in community colleges located in Lincoln, Milford, Norfolk
and North Platte, with focuses in Information Technology, design, diesel mechanics and electrical
fields.
In addition to the Good Life, Great Journey Scholarship, full time State employees are eligible for tuition
assistance in their field, and 100% tuition reimbursement for family members attending community
college. Also, NDOT is a new member in AASHTO’s STEM Outreach Solutions program, engaging
K-12 students in real-world problem solving and increasing student exposure to careers in transportation.
