Jan. 16, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of December 2024, seventeen people were killed in traffic
crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 17 fatalities occurred in 16 fatal crashes.
- Six of the sixteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, three were using a seatbelt, and
seven had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
- Eleven of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
- There was one fatality on the interstate, seven on other highways, and nine on local roads.
- One of the fatalities was a motorcyclist.
